Can I scan takeout or a buffet?

Yes. The food type tags include Restaurant / Cafe, Hotel / Event Buffet, Street Food and Office, and you can also type the meal.

Can I log fast if I eat out every day?

Yes. Long-press + on Home to open the camera at once, or add a meal you ate before from Recent or Favourites.

Can I fix the portion afterwards?

Yes. Tap the portion pill on any item to change the quantity or unit, or tap Edit Macros to set your own numbers.

Does NutriScan work for restaurant meals?

Yes. Photograph the plate and set the food type to Restaurant / Cafe. NutriScan returns an estimate you can correct.

How it works in the app

Long-press + on Home to open the camera, or tap + and choose Scan Meal.
Take a photo of the plate. Or tap Choose Photos if you took it earlier.
Set the food type: Restaurant / Cafe, Hotel / Event Buffet, Street Food or Office.
Pick the cooking method, or choose Not Sure if you do not know. Set the oil slider if the dish looked oily.
Submit. The result opens in 10 to 15 seconds.

When you do not know the portion

A restaurant plate hides weights. You can add a note such as portion size next to the photo, then adjust the portion pill on each item after the scan. If you know the numbers, Edit Macros lets you enter them.

Eating out most days

Meals you log are saved. Open Recent or Favourites on the Log Meal screen to add a lunch you have had before. You can also copy a past meal to today.

Travelling

The app uses your location for regional nutrition data and the Insights map. It asks for location after your second logged meal.

Limits

The estimate comes from your photo and notes. The free plan includes 5 scans a week.
