Does NutriScan sync with Apple Health?

Yes. On iPhone, NutriScan reads your activity, sleep and weight from Apple Health and writes your meals, water, weight and glucose readings back.

How to connect

  1. Open Profile > Health & Devices and tap Sync Apple Health. You can also tap Not Synced on a tile in Home > Report.
  2. Tap Connect & Continue. One Apple Health permission sheet covers everything the app uses.
  3. After connecting, the app checks the last 30 days and turns on every health card that has data.

What NutriScan reads

Steps, active energy and sleep fill your daily report. The permission sheet also asks to read workouts, walking and running distance, exercise time, heart rate, resting heart rate and heart rate variability. Glucose, blood oxygen, breathing rate and body temperature are read as well.

What NutriScan writes

Each logged meal's calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, sugar, fat types, cholesterol, minerals (calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, sodium, zinc) and vitamins (A, C, D, E, K, B6, B12). It also writes weight, water and the glucose readings you log. Deleting a meal removes its nutrition from Apple Health. Sample meals are never written.

Limits

  • A glucose reading another app wrote to Apple Health while NutriScan was closed shows on the Glucose tile right after a fresh app launch.
  • Heart rate and the other vitals are read only. You cannot enter them in NutriScan.
  • Glucose from a continuous glucose monitor app (more than 24 readings a day) is not imported.
