Can I log blood sugar next to my meals in NutriScan?
Yes. NutriScan lets you log glucose readings by hand, link them to a meal, and see them on a chart with your meals, for your own tracking.
How it works in the app
- Open Home > Report and tap the Glucose tile, then tap Log.
- Move the ruler to your reading (20 to 600 mg/dL, or 1.1 to 33.3 mmol/L).
- Pick when you checked: Fasting, Before meal, After meal, Bedtime or Other. The app pre-picks one from the time of day and your meals.
- For meal contexts, the nearest meal in the same slot within 3 hours is linked on its own. You can also tap Pick a meal.
- Tap Save reading.
What you see
- A chart with your target range behind the readings, on Day, Week and Month tabs. In range is a hollow ring, above is a triangle up, below is a triangle down.
- Stats for Average, In range and Readings count.
- Meal ticks under the chart. Tap one to open that meal.
- A Glucose card on the meal's Nutrition Details page that lists its linked readings.
Target ranges
The first time you tap the Glucose tile or Log, the Glucose profile page opens before anything else. Pick No diabetes, Prediabetes, Type 1, Type 2 or Gestational, then tap Done. This only sets default target ranges, and you can edit each one. The app never guesses it for you, whatever your goal. Open Glucose > Range any time to change it. Defaults follow ADA 2024 and NHS.
Reminders and other apps
- Add a Glucose check reminder under Profile > Set Reminders, up to 6 a day. Tapping it opens Log a reading.
- Readings other apps wrote to Apple Health or Health Connect while NutriScan was closed show on the Glucose tile right after a fresh app launch.
Limits
- Readings from a continuous glucose monitor app are not imported.
- A reading from Apple Health or Health Connect has its value and time locked. Edit it there.
- NutriScan is not a medical device and does not diagnose anything. Check with your doctor before you change your treatment.
