Is Levels Free? Levels Pricing, Stelo Cost and Refunds
Levels is not free: the membership costs $15 a month or $80 a year, per its pricing and plans page (updated September 23, 2026), and that price does not include a glucose sensor. A Stelo biosensor through Levels adds $89 per shipment of two sensors on subscription, or $99 for a one-time two-pack. The app is a free download, but it does nothing without a paid membership, and the only money-back route is a 14-day satisfaction guarantee on your first membership purchase.
Prices checked on October 13, 2026 on the Levels support center (pricing and plans, Stelo pricing, Dexcom G7, refund policy, cancellation, own-sensor and availability articles), the Levels signup page, the Levels blog post "How much does Levels cost?" (updated July 22, 2026) and the US App Store listing. Taxes and shipping may be added at checkout.

Levels Health built its name on glucose tracking with a continuous glucose monitor (CGM). In 2026 it sells itself more broadly: its cost explainer describes "comprehensive blood testing, AI-driven food logging, habit tracking, optional glucose monitoring, and personalized guidance." The word "optional" matters for price. Levels no longer bundles a sensor into its cheapest plan, and that plan now costs $80 a year, well below the $125 to $200 a year that older reviews quote. The two older bundles, Core at $399 and Complete at $1,329, are labeled legacy in the support center but still appear on the signup page.
TL;DR - Levels Pricing
- Free? No. Only the app download, the blog and the podcast cost nothing.
- Membership: $15 a month or $80 a year. No free tier, no free trial.
- Sensors are extra: Stelo $89 per 2-sensor shipment on subscription, $99 one time. Dexcom G7 about $177 a month through Amazon Pharmacy, with a prescription.
- Labs are extra: $99 basic panel (28+ biomarkers), $399 comprehensive panel (100+).
- Refunds: 14 days on a first membership purchase. Sensor sales are final.
- US only. Levels has no app-only plan for other countries.

The quick answer: Levels is not free
Three things in the Levels world cost nothing:
- The download. The Levels app is free on the US App Store and US Google Play. You sign in with a paid account; there is no free mode.
- The blog and podcast. Levels publishes a large library of articles on glucose, biomarkers and food, open to anyone.
- Using a sensor you already own. If your doctor prescribes a Dexcom G7 or you buy Stelo elsewhere, Levels does not charge a sensor fee. You still pay for the membership.
Everything else is paid. The pricing page lists what every membership includes: the app and dashboard, "AI-powered food logging and macro tracking," AI health insights, four metabolic programs, habit tracking and unlimited uploads of past bloodwork. Sensors and lab panels are "optional add-ons" bought from the Shop tab in the member portal.
There is no free trial. The closest thing is the 14-day satisfaction guarantee, covered in the refund section below.

The download is free. The membership, the sensors and the labs are each counted separately.
Levels price list for 2026
Membership
| Plan | Price | Effective monthly cost | Billing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $15 a month | $15 | Billed monthly, cancel anytime |
| Annual | $80 a year | $6.67 | Billed yearly, "save 55%" |
The signup page calls the $80 plan "Classic" and the cost explainer calls it "Build your system." They are the same membership.
Add-ons
| Add-on | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Stelo biosensor, subscription | $89 per shipment | 2 sensors, about 15 days each |
| Stelo biosensor, one time | $99 | 2 sensors |
| Basic lab panel | $99 | 28+ biomarkers |
| Comprehensive lab panel | $399 | 100+ biomarkers |
| Functional nutritionist session | $250 | 50 minutes, one to one |
All prices come from the Levels pricing page. The Stelo pricing article adds that you can set the subscription to ship monthly, every other month or every three months, and the price stays $89 a shipment at any frequency.
Dexcom G7 through Levels
If you want a prescription CGM, Levels runs a G7 prescription pathway. You fill in a medical intake in the Shop tab, a physician partner reviews it, and if approved the prescription goes to Amazon Pharmacy. Levels quotes the cash price there at "approximately $177 for a month's supply (three 10-day sensors)." G7 data shows up in Levels with about a one-hour delay, against about three hours when synced through Apple Health or Health Connect.
Legacy Core and Complete plans
| Plan | Price | Included |
|---|---|---|
| Core | $399 a year ($33.25 a month) | 1 month of glucose monitoring, 2 basic lab panels, clinician review twice a year, priority email support |
| Complete | $1,329 a year ($110.75 a month) | 2 months of glucose monitoring, 2 comprehensive lab panels, one 50-minute nutritionist session, clinician review twice a year, concierge email and SMS support |
The support center says members on these plans keep their price "through your current paid term" and are "automatically migrated to our current, lower pricing at your next renewal." You can also switch earlier from Billing & Subscriptions at no charge.
Why you will see different Levels prices online
Search for Levels pricing and you will get at least four different answers. Here is where each comes from:
- $125 to $200 a year. Older app-only membership prices. A PowerMoves review quotes $200 a year plus sensors, and a Nutrisense comparison quotes a fee "starting at $125." The current annual price is $80.
- $399 and $1,329. Core and Complete. On October 13, 2026, the signup page still showed both, with Core marked "Most Popular," next to the $80 Classic plan. The pricing page calls them legacy plans. If you can still buy one, you are paying for a bundle the company is phasing out.
- "All memberships include CGMs." That sentence opens the own-sensor article, last updated September 1, 2026. It describes the Core and Complete bundles. The $15 and $80 plans do not include a sensor. Our reading: trust the support center's pricing page, which carries the newest date, and check your cart total before paying.

What a year of Levels costs
Here is the math for a year on the annual membership, by our arithmetic from Levels' own pricing page, its Stelo page and its G7 article.
| Scenario | Membership | Sensors | Total for the year |
|---|---|---|---|
| App only, no sensor | $80 | $0 | $80 |
| Two one-month sensor tests | $80 | 2 x $99 = $198 | $278 |
| Stelo from Levels every month | $80 | 12 x $89 = $1,068 | $1,148 |
| G7 every month | $80 | about 12 x $177 = $2,124 | about $2,204 |
Sensors are where the money goes. Over a year of continuous wear, the $80 membership is 7% of the bill. Most people without diabetes do not need a year of sensors, so the second row is the realistic budget.

Figure 1: A year of Levels priced seven ways, from Levels prices on October 13, 2026 and Dexcom's Stelo prices on October 11, 2026.
As Figure 1 shows, the membership is the smallest part of every option that includes year-round sensors.
Is a legacy bundle cheaper than buying a la carte?
No. Rebuilt from today's add-on prices on the pricing page, Core's parts cost $377 against its $399 price, and Complete's parts cost $1,326 against $1,329. If you do not want two lab panels a year, both cost far more than you need.
Levels vs buying Stelo directly
Levels sells the same Stelo sensor Dexcom sells, at the same $89 and $99 prices. Dexcom's own store has a cheaper option: a 3-month plan at $252 for 6 sensors, about $2.80 a day, which we priced in our Stelo pricing guide. The Levels pricing page says you can buy Stelo from stelo.com or Amazon "and still use them with the Levels app."
| Sensor route | Price | Per day |
|---|---|---|
| Stelo via Dexcom, 3-month plan | $252 for 6 sensors | about $2.80 |
| Stelo via Levels, subscription | $89 for 2 sensors | about $2.97 |
| Stelo via Levels, one time | $99 for 2 sensors | about $3.30 |
| Dexcom G7 via Amazon Pharmacy, cash | about $177 for 3 sensors | about $5.90 |
So if you plan to wear sensors for three months or more, buy the 3-month plan from Dexcom and pay Levels only for the membership. You give up one thing: Levels cannot replace or support sensors you buy elsewhere, per its own-sensor article. Replacements then go through Dexcom.
Which sensors work? Levels lists Stelo, Dexcom G7 and G7 15-Day through a direct account connection, and "any glucose monitor that writes to Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android)." Some 2025 App Store reviews complain that Libre 3 support ended, so if you use a FreeStyle Libre, confirm it writes to Apple Health or Health Connect before you pay. Nutrisense bundles the sensor into a monthly plan instead.

Refunds: 14 days, first purchase only
The refund and replacement policy splits by what you bought.
Membership. Levels offers a "14-day satisfaction guarantee on membership purchases." Refunds are available for first-time purchases only, requests must come within 14 days, and you email [email protected] to ask. After 14 days there is no refund on an annual membership. You can only turn off auto-renewal so it ends at the close of the year.
Sensors. "All device sales are final. No returns or exchanges." You may keep or throw away your kit after a refund or cancellation.
Labs. You can get a full refund for an unused lab order within one year of purchase. Once you complete the blood draw, or after one year, there is no refund. If you ask for a membership refund after using a lab order, Levels refunds the membership minus the cost of the labs.
Expired sensors. Levels ships sensors with at least 2 months of shelf life and does not refund or replace sensors that expire unused.
One review in Apple's US review feed shows how the 14-day window plays out. An August 2026 one-star review says Levels "wouldn't refund since [it] was outside the meager 14 day return policy." Set a phone reminder for day 12 of any first purchase.
How to cancel a Levels membership or sensor subscription
Levels treats the membership and sensor shipments as two separate subscriptions. Cancel both if you are leaving.
Membership. Turn off auto-renewal in the member portal under Billing & Subscriptions. Your access runs to the end of the paid month or year.
Stelo subscription. The cancellation article gives five steps:
- Log in to the Levels member portal.
- Go to Account, then Billing & Subscriptions.
- Under Glucose Monitors, select Subscription Options.
- Select End Subscription.
- Confirm.
Levels emails a reminder 15 days before each sensor billing date. "Once your payment has been processed, it cannot be canceled," and returns are not accepted. If you only want sensors now and then, a one-time two-pack has no subscription to cancel.
Who can use Levels
Levels works only in the United States, per its availability article. You need a US shipping address, a US phone number, a US App Store or Google Play account, and you have to set up Stelo while physically in the US. It covers all 50 states and Puerto Rico; Guam and the US Virgin Islands can use the app but cannot buy Stelo.
The article is blunt about everyone else: "There is also no app-only offering for people on international phones or international app store accounts, even if you already have a local CGM." Levels does not recommend buying if you live abroad and runs an international waitlist. If you are outside the US, Abbott's Lingo also sells in the UK, and our CGM app roundup lists apps that read other sensors.
If you use insulin or manage diabetes with medication, talk to your doctor first
Levels says it "is designed for maintaining and improving health, not for diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of medical conditions." Your care team decides which CGM and glucose targets fit you, and no app reading should change a medication dose on its own.
HSA, FSA and paying over time
Levels is HSA and FSA eligible through Truemed, per the pricing page. At checkout you choose Truemed, answer an eligibility survey, and if approved pay with your HSA or FSA card. Levels says this can save "around 30%" by using pre-tax dollars. You can also pay by card and send the receipt plus a Letter of Medical Necessity to your HSA administrator.
For Stelo, the Stelo article says you "cannot pay directly with your HSA card," but Truemed can help you claim reimbursement. G7 sensors from Amazon Pharmacy accept HSA and FSA payments directly.
What users say about the Levels app
The Levels app was rated 4.7 out of 5 from 6,721 ratings on the US App Store on October 13, 2026 (version 1.6.194, released October 9, 2026). It needs iOS 16.6 or later.
The 50 most recent US reviews in Apple's review feed, going back to April 2025, are split. The complaints repeat a few themes:
- Price and billing. Several reviews call the app overpriced, and one says the reviewer was charged for another month automatically after a 30-day sensor test.
- Food logging. One reviewer calls the native food log "HORRIBLE" and asks for Lose It integration.
- Sensor support changes. Late 2025 reviews complain about Libre 3 support ending and about changes to G7 support. The G7 now has a direct account connection.
Read the 4.7 with care. Several reviews quote older prices, such as $40 a month or $499 a year, so the price complaints may not match what you pay today.
What the research says about CGMs without diabetes
Levels markets its sensor add-on for weight, energy and long-term metabolic health. Here is what the studies support.
- Small effects on glucose, none on weight. A 2024 meta-analysis of 25 randomized trials with 2,996 adults found CGM feedback lowered HbA1c by 0.28 percentage points, with non-significant effects on BMI and weight (Richardson et al., 2024). Most of the trials were in people with type 2 diabetes.
- People respond differently to the same food. A study of 800 people and 46,898 meals found high variability in glucose response to identical meals (Zeevi et al., 2015). That is the strongest case for testing your own meals.
- One reading of one meal is noisy. In feeding studies of 30 adults without diabetes and 1,189 meal responses, the same meal served about a week apart gave responses with low reliability (intraclass correlation 0.17 to 0.28) (Hengist et al., 2025). Test a meal more than once before you drop it. So a month with a sensor can show how your breakfast, your walk after dinner and your late snack behave. It will not make you lose weight on its own.

One month of data is usually enough, which is why the next sum matters.

✨ The plan choice that makes a one-month sensor test $114 instead of $179 (about to reveal)

The plan choice that decides what a Levels test costs
The signup button reads "Start Your Health Journey - $80," so the annual plan is the default. For a short test, the $15 monthly plan on the pricing page is the cheaper membership. Here is the same month of glucose tracking paid both ways, by our arithmetic from that page:
| Your first order | Membership | Sensors | Cost of a one-month test |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly plan + one-time Stelo two-pack | $15 | $99 | $114 |
| Annual plan + one-time Stelo two-pack | $80 | $99 | $179 |
That is $65 saved for the same sensors and the same app. The monthly plan stays cheaper for a while:
| Months you keep Levels | Monthly plan | Annual plan |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $15 | $80 |
| 3 | $45 | $80 |
| 5 | $75 | $80 |
| 6 | $90 | $80 |
| 12 | $180 | $80 |
The crossover is month 6. Up to five months, pay monthly. From six months on, the annual plan wins.
Two conditions apply:
- Find the monthly option before you pay. When we loaded the signup page on October 13, 2026, it showed the $80 Classic price and no monthly price. The pricing page lists $15 a month as "billed monthly, cancel anytime." If checkout does not offer it, email [email protected] before you pay.
- Turn off auto-renewal. A monthly plan renews every month until you stop it in Billing & Subscriptions. For a three-month test, the same logic gives $45 of membership plus Dexcom's $252 3-month Stelo plan: $297, against $347 for the annual plan with three $89 shipments from Levels.
Who Levels is worth paying for
Good fit: you are in the US, already wear a Stelo or G7, and want an app that ties glucose to meals, labs and habits. At $80 a year, the membership is now cheap next to the sensor.
Fair fit: you are curious about glucose and want a one-month experiment. Go monthly: $15 plus a $99 two-pack is $114, and you can cancel before the next bill.
Poor fit: you live outside the US, you mainly want a calorie and macro counter, or you want the cheapest sensor per day. For the last case, buy Stelo's 3-month plan from Dexcom. For a coached program built around a sensor, compare our Signos pricing guide.
How to try Levels without overpaying: 5 steps
- Confirm you qualify. Levels works only in the United States. You need a US shipping address, a US phone number and a US App Store or Google Play account.
- Pick the monthly membership for a one-month test. For a single month of glucose tracking, $15 monthly plus a $99 Stelo two-pack costs $114. The $80 annual plan plus the same two-pack costs $179.
- Decide inside 14 days. The 14-day satisfaction guarantee covers first-time membership purchases only. Email [email protected] before day 14 if you want your money back.
- Buy sensors where they are cheapest. Stelo costs the same $89 a shipment through Levels and stelo.com. Stelo's own 3-month plan is $252 for 6 sensors, about $2.80 a day, and still works with the Levels app.
- Turn off renewals early. Turn off membership auto-renewal in the member portal, and end any Stelo subscription before the billing date. Once a sensor payment is processed it cannot be canceled.
Where NutriScan fits
Levels already includes AI food logging, so if you pay for it, you do not need a second food app. If you stop the membership after a sensor month and still want to count calories and protein, NutriScan logs a meal from a photo and returns calories, protein, carbs and fat for mixed plates. It does not read a CGM. Glucose readings are logged by hand, for free, and shown next to the meals you ate around them. The free plan has 5 photo scans a week, and Premium is about $59 a year. Photo logging is covered in the meal scan guide, and NutriScan's pricing is laid out the same way as this guide.
Keep the food log after the sensor comes off
The lasting part of a CGM month is knowing which meals to repeat. Photograph them while the sensor is on, and the log outlives the last sensor.

FAQ
Is the Levels app free?
No. The Levels app is a free download, but using it needs a paid membership: $15 a month or $80 a year. There is no free tier and no free trial. A 14-day satisfaction guarantee refunds first-time membership purchases.
How much does Levels cost per month?
The membership is $15 a month, or $80 a year (about $6.67 a month). Glucose sensors are extra: Stelo through Levels is $89 a shipment of 2 sensors on subscription or $99 one time, so a month with a sensor costs about $104 on the monthly plan.
Does the Levels membership include a CGM?
Not on the current $15 or $80 plan. Sensors are an optional add-on. The legacy Core plan ($399 a year) included 1 month of glucose monitoring and the legacy Complete plan ($1,329 a year) included 2 months, but Levels says both move to the lower pricing at renewal.
Can I get a refund from Levels?
For a first-time membership purchase, yes, within 14 days. After that, annual memberships are not refunded. Sensor sales are final. Unused lab orders can be refunded within one year of purchase.
Can I use Levels outside the US?
No. Levels says it is available only in the United States and has no app-only option for international users, even if you already own a CGM. It does not recommend buying Levels if you live outside the US.
