RP Diet Coach pricing 2026: monthly and annual plans, the missing free trial, the 30-day website refund and how to cancel

RP Diet Coach is not free: RP Strength's own pricing page lists the Monthly Membership at $19.99 a month and the Annual Membership at $99.99 a year, and its checkout shows "Total due today $99.99" with no trial period. The download costs nothing. Building a diet, logging a meal and getting a weekly review all need a paid subscription.

I work on the NutriScan team, which makes a competing food tracker, so read this with that in mind. Every number below comes from RP's website and help center, the App Store and Google Play listings, or a study I link to. Where two RP pages say different things about refunds, I show both and explain which one applies to the app.

Prices checked on October 15, 2026 on RP's pricing page and web checkout, the US, UK, Canada, Australia and India App Store listings, the US Google Play listing and seven RP help center articles (first checked October 4). Taxes may be added at checkout, depending on where you live.

TL;DR - RP Diet Coach Pricing

  • No free plan. RP sells two subscriptions, monthly and annual, and both give full access.
  • Website price: $19.99 a month or $99.99 a year ($8.33 a month).
  • Free trial: none at the web checkout, and 2026 App Store reviewers report none in the app.
  • Refunds: 30 days, no questions asked, but only if you bought on RP's website. App Store and Google Play purchases go through Apple and Google.
  • Canceling: where you bought, in RP's app portal, the App Store or Google Play. Deleting the app does not stop billing.

The quick answer: RP Diet Coach is paid only

Two things about RP Diet Coach cost nothing:

  • The download. The App Store listing and the Google Play listing both show the app as free with in-app purchases.
  • The first 30 days, if you buy on the website and ask for your money back. RP's pricing page says "Risk Free, 30 Day Moneyback Guarantee." That is a refund you request after paying. It is a different thing from a free trial, and it has conditions I cover below.

Everything else is paid. The store description says: "We offer 2 different subscriptions that provide full access to the app and all its features. You can choose to subscribe monthly or annually." There is no free tier with a daily logging limit and no ad-supported version.

RP's help center describes it as "a digital diet coach and not a simple macro tracker" in its article on how the app differs from other apps. It builds a plan from your schedule and goal, then sets macros meal by meal, and you cannot see whether that suits you until you have paid.

RP Diet Coach price list for 2026

RP sells the same subscription in three places: its website (paid by card through Stripe), the App Store and Google Play. The prices are not identical across them.

Website prices

PlanPricePer monthBilled
Monthly Membership$19.99$19.99Every month
Annual Membership$99.99$8.33Once a year

These are the two plans on RP's pricing page. The annual plan is labeled "Best Value" and comes with bonus items: a video series, 5 guides, 2 eCookbooks with 101 recipes, the RP Diet eBook and access to a private Facebook group.

US App Store prices

The US App Store listing shows ten in-app purchases. Apple shows up to ten active prices per app, so this list includes sale and referral prices that you may never be offered, and the mix can change from week to week. On October 4 it showed a "2025 Sale Monthly Subscription" at $9.99; by October 15 that slot showed a 2023 yearly sale price instead.

In-app purchase namePrice
Monthly Subscription$19.99
Monthly Subscription$14.99
Monthly (Athlete Referral)$14.99
Monthly (Gym Referral)$14.99
Monthly Subscription (Gym)$14.99
2026 NY Sale Monthly Subscription$9.99
2022 Sale Quarterly Sub$34.99
2023 Sale Yearly Subscription$89.99
Yearly Subscription$99.99
Yearly Subscription$149.99

The monthly plan appears at both $14.99 and $19.99, and the yearly plan at both $99.99 and $149.99. The website charges $19.99 and $99.99, so I treat those as current. The paywall inside the app decides which one you see.

Prices in other countries

CountryMonthlyYearly
United Kingdom£14.49 or £19.99£99.99 or £144.99
Canada$19.99 or $24.99$129.99 or $199.99
Australia$24.49 or $29.99$149.99 or $249.99
India₹1,099 or ₹1,999₹9,900 or ₹11,500

These come from the UK, Canada, Australia and India App Store listings, in local currency.

Why you will see $14.99 quoted online

Many reviews and comparison sites say RP Diet Coach costs $14.99 a month. That number is real, and it still sits in the App Store list. But three of the four $14.99 entries carry the words "Referral" or "Gym" in their names, which points to a partner price, and RP's own website now charges $19.99.

So here is how I read the list:

  • $19.99 a month is the standard monthly price in 2026.
  • $14.99 a month is an older or referral price. You may get it through a gym or athlete code.
  • $9.99 a month and $89.99 a year appear only in entries named "Sale", for New Year 2026 and for older promotions.
  • $99.99 a year is the standard annual price, on the website and in the store.
  • $149.99 a year is listed in the store, but I did not find it offered on any RP page.

If a site quotes one flat price for RP Diet Coach, check the date. The price you pay is the one shown on your own checkout screen.

What a month and a year of RP Diet Coach cost

How you payCost over 12 monthsCost per month
Monthly at $19.99$239.88$19.99
Monthly at $14.99 (referral)$179.88$14.99
Annual at $99.99$99.99$8.33

Bar chart of what 12 months of RP Diet Coach costs in US dollars by plan: monthly at $19.99 paid 12 times $239.88, monthly at the $14.99 referral price $179.88, annual at the $149.99 App Store price, annual at $99.99

Figure 1: Cost of 12 months of RP Diet Coach by plan, from RP's website and the US App Store on October 15, 2026.

The annual plan costs $139.89 less than twelve monthly payments at the website price, a saving of about 58%. The annual plan becomes cheaper once you stay past month five, because five monthly payments add up to $99.95.

For one diet phase of three or four months, monthly costs less. For six months or more, annual does, but you pay all of it on day one.

The other rows come from our pricing guides, which link to each app's listing. RP's yearly price matches Carbon and sits above MacroFactor; the missing trial is what sets it apart. For a closer look at the two nearest rivals, see our MacroFactor vs Carbon comparison.

🧩 The list of people RP tells not to buy the app (coming soon)

The free trial: there is none in 2026

RP's web checkout for the annual plan shows a subtotal of $99.99 and "Total due today $99.99." There is no trial line and no delayed first charge. The pricing page does not mention a trial either.

App Store reviewers describe the same thing inside the app. These are from the US review feed:

  • August 2026: "No free trial you have to pay over $100 right away."
  • April 2026: "I would've liked to have a preview before I paid for the subscription."
  • February 2026: "they don't even give you a free mode or trial to give it a try before buying."

You may still find older posts that promise one. A Facebook post by RP's Dr. Mike Israetel says the app "is free to try for two weeks." I could not find that offer on any RP page or checkout in October 2026, so treat it as out of date.

The practical replacement for a trial is the 30-day refund, and it only works one way: buy on the website.

Refunds: 30 days on the website, the store rules everywhere else

RP's help center article on its refund policy says: "we offer a no-questions-asked refund within 30 days of purchase upon request." Then it sets four limits:

  1. Website purchases only. The guarantee applies "only for purchases made directly on our website."
  2. One refund per product per customer. You cannot refund, rejoin and refund again.
  3. Google Play purchases go to Google. The article says to "contact them directly for refund inquiries."
  4. App Store purchases go to Apple. RP writes that "Apple does not give us ANY capacity to manage users and their subscriptions."

So where you tap "subscribe" decides who can give your money back.

Where you boughtWho refundsRule
rpstrength.com (card, Stripe)RP30 days, on request, once per product
App StoreAppleApple's refund request process, no guarantee
Google PlayGoogleGoogle Play's refund policy, no guarantee

The second refund page that says "All sales are final"

RP's main site also has a page titled Refund Policy. It opens with: "All sales are final. There are no refunds for our templates or ebooks." This page is about RP's diet templates and ebooks, which are one-time digital products. The help center article confirms that digital products "are excluded from returns and are considered final sale."

The app subscription falls under the 30-day guarantee if you bought it on the website, so that page is the wrong policy for an app refund.

How to cancel RP Diet Coach

You cancel in the same place you paid. RP's article on where your subscription lives says that if you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, "you must manage your subscription through the App Store itself."

If you paid on RP's website:

  1. Go to rp.app/manage, RP's app portal.
  2. Sign in with the exact email you used at checkout.
  3. Find the subscription and select "Manage My Subscription."
  4. Stripe opens. Cancel there, or change your card.

Steps from RP's Stripe subscription guide.

If you paid on iPhone: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then RP Diet Coach. Apple's guide to canceling a subscription has the same steps for Mac and the web.

If you paid on Android: open Google Play, tap your profile, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. RP's own Android article points to Google's subscription help page.

Two details catch people:

  • The wrong email shows no subscription. RP warns that if you see nothing in the portal, "you likely signed in with the wrong email."
  • "Continue with Apple" can create a private relay email. That address differs from your Apple ID email, so you must sign in with the same button every time.

The store description adds the usual Apple rule: you are charged "within 24 hours prior to the end of the current term." Cancel at least a day before your renewal date.

Checkpoint: the money rules are covered.

What an RP Diet Coach subscription includes

Both plans unlock the same app. The App Store description lists:

  • Personalized calories and macros for fat loss, muscle gain or maintenance
  • Meal timing guidance, with meal-by-meal macro targets
  • A weekly review that adjusts calories and macros from your progress
  • A food database of 750,000+ foods with a barcode scanner
  • AI nutrition label scanning
  • Raw or cooked food tracking
  • Meal reminders
  • Scheduling for night shifts and intermittent fasting
  • HealthKit sync for weigh-ins on iPhone

The annual plan adds the bonus items listed earlier. The monthly plan does not show them on the pricing page.

What changed in the big update

RP rebuilt the app in update 1.5. Calories are now visible next to macros, a weekly calorie goal replaced fixed daily targets, and a "Redistribute" button spreads an unplanned food across your remaining meals. Whether that is an improvement depends on who you ask, as the reviews show.

What is missing

  • No data import. RP's import and export article says data "cannot yet be imported into either the diet or hypertrophy apps." It describes an export only for training data in the Hypertrophy app.
  • English only. The App Store listing shows one language.
  • No bundle with the training app. RP Hypertrophy is a separate app with its own subscription.
  • Not for beginners in macro counting. RP says the app "does require some basic knowledge of counting macros."

What users say about the RP Diet Coach app

The ratings differ a lot by store. The US App Store shows 4.4 stars from about 11,800 ratings. Google Play shows 4.2 stars from 6.42K reviews and 500K+ downloads (it showed 3.7 on October 4).

On October 4 I read the 50 most recent written US App Store reviews, dated November 11, 2025 to September 24, 2026. Written reviews lean negative on most apps, because unhappy users write more. Even so, the split is clear: 24 gave 1 star, 9 gave 2 stars, 8 gave 3 stars, 1 gave 4 stars and 8 gave 5 stars.

Four themes repeat:

  • The redesign. About a third of the 50 mention the update or the new interface. One long-time user wrote: "The diet worked but the app sucks." Another: "The new app seems too complex and confusing. The old app was great."
  • No trial, then a refund request. Seven reviews ask for a refund or mention wanting one. One reads: "I want a refund I could tell I didn't like it after 10 minutes."
  • Bugs. A September 2026 review says changing workout intensity "deletes all my meals for that day."
  • Results. The 5-star reviews talk about outcomes. One says: "Lost over 20 lbs using this! It keeps you honest." Another says they lost over 40 pounds.

On Google Play the top review reads: "The plans work, but the app is BAD and painful to use."

My reading: people trust the diet method and argue with the software, which is exactly when a trial would help.

What the research says about structured tracking

RP Diet Coach sells structure: fixed meals, set macros and a weekly check. Here is what studies say about the ideas behind it.

  • Tracking is linked to weight loss. A 2021 systematic review of 39 randomized trials found that greater digital self-monitoring was linked to weight loss in 74% of the cases it examined. Few programs kept people logging on at least 75% of days (Patel et al., 2021).
  • People stop logging food early. In a 6-month program with 54 adults, people stopped logging diet after a median of 10 weeks, against 19.5 weeks for activity tracking. Extra contact from a human coach kept diet logging going longer (Carpenter et al., 2022).
  • Detailed logging gets done less often. In a pilot of 38 adults, the group logging everything did so on a median of 49% of days. The group logging only high-calorie foods reached 97%. Weight loss was about the same, 3.4 kg and 3.3 kg (Patel et al., 2022). RP's meal-by-meal plan sits at the detailed end.
  • Calorie apps can feed disordered eating in some users. A survey of 1,357 adults found that people who used a calorie tracking app for weight or shape reasons were more likely to say the app had contributed to food preoccupation and all-or-none thinking (Messer et al., 2021). This fits RP's own advice that people with a history of an eating disorder should not use the app.

None of these studies tested RP Diet Coach itself. They back the method in general and show its weak point: detailed logging is hard to keep up.

Who RP Diet Coach is worth paying for

Good fit: you lift weights, you already count macros, and you want to be told what to eat at each meal. You meal prep, you weigh food, and you like a weekly review that changes your numbers for you.

Smiling woman in an apron in a kitchen waving at the camera with the caption Prep day

If prep day is already on your calendar, the app's meal-by-meal targets will feel natural.

Fair fit: you liked RP's diet templates before. Expect a redesigned app, and buy on the website so the 30-day refund covers you.

Poor fit: you are new to macros, you eat out often, you want a free tier, or you are on RP's own exclusion list, covered next. A plain tracker with a free plan will cost you less and ask less of you. Our Carbon Diet Coach alternatives guide compares seven macro coaching apps on price and logging.

✨ The list of people RP tells not to buy the app (about to reveal)

Who RP says should not use the app

Most diet apps let anyone subscribe. RP publishes a list of people it does not want as customers, and it affects whether you should pay at all. RP's article Is the RP diet coach app right for me? lists people who should not use it. The list includes anyone who:

  • Is under 18 or over 65
  • Weighs over 350 pounds, or has a BMI under 17
  • Is pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Has type 1 or type 2 diabetes
  • Has heart disease, gallbladder disease or a thyroid condition
  • Has polycystic ovary syndrome or an autoimmune disease
  • Has a history of an eating disorder
  • Had weight loss surgery in the past 5 years

RP also says you should get clearance from your own healthcare provider before starting, and the web checkout asks you to agree to a medical disclaimer.

Read this list before you subscribe. If you are on it and you bought through the App Store, RP cannot refund you; only Apple can.

How to try RP Diet Coach without losing money: 5 steps

  1. Check RP's exclusion list first. If your age, weight or a health condition is on it, do not subscribe.
  2. Buy on rpstrength.com, not in the app. Only website purchases qualify for the 30-day refund from RP.
  3. Start with the plan that matches your diet length. Under five months, monthly costs less. Over five, annual does.
  4. Use the app daily for two weeks. Build your schedule, log every meal and complete at least one weekly review. That is where the app differs from a plain tracker.
  5. Decide by day 25. If it does not suit you, email [email protected] to ask for the refund, then cancel in the portal at rp.app/manage.

Tracking food with a free tier

If meal-by-meal macro planning is more structure than you need, NutriScan logs meals from a photo and returns calories, protein, carbs and fat for mixed plates. It does not build a meal schedule or adjust macros weekly. It has a free tier of 5 scans a week and Premium at about $59 a year; NutriScan's pricing is laid out the same way as this guide.

FAQ

Is RP Diet Coach free?

No. The app is a free download, but you need a subscription to use it. RP's website lists $19.99 a month or $99.99 a year, and there is no free plan.

How much does the RP Diet app cost per month?

$19.99 a month on RP's website. The annual plan is $99.99, which works out to $8.33 a month. The US App Store also lists a $14.99 monthly price tied to gym and athlete referrals, and a $9.99 sale price.

Does RP Diet Coach have a free trial?

Not in October 2026. The web checkout charges the full price on day one, and App Store reviewers from February to August 2026 say they were offered no trial. RP offers a 30-day refund on website purchases instead.

Can I get a refund from RP Diet Coach?

Yes, if you bought on rpstrength.com and ask within 30 days. RP limits this to one refund per product per customer. If you bought through the App Store or Google Play, you must ask Apple or Google, and neither guarantees approval.

How do I cancel an RP Diet Coach subscription?

Cancel where you paid. Website purchases are managed at rp.app/manage, which opens Stripe. On iPhone go to Settings, your name, Subscriptions. On Android open Google Play, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel billing.
