Is DoFasting Free? Pricing, Refunds and Cancel Rules

No, DoFasting is not free. The app is free to download, but the fasting plans, the recipes, the workouts and the meal log all sit behind a subscription. The cheapest listed plan is $66.99 a year on the US App Store, and DoFasting's own help center says you can pick a 3-month, 6-month or 12-month subscription and that "prices may vary due to seasonal and personalized discounts."
I write about app pricing for NutriScan. On 1 October 2026 I found three different price lists for DoFasting: the website, the App Store description, and ten plan prices in the App Store purchase list. This guide puts them side by side, then covers refunds, the 48-hour cancel deadline and the cancel steps.

TL;DR: DoFasting pricing in 30 seconds
• Free plan: no. The app is a free download, and every core feature needs a subscription
• Trial: no standing free trial; reviewers report a paid $1 trial that turns into a full plan
• Price: website plans cost $37 for 1 month, $48 for 3 months and $69 for 6 months; the US App Store lists $32.99 a quarter, $45.99 a half-year and $66.99 a year
• Cancel: at least 48 hours before the period ends for website purchases; deleting the app cancels nothing
• Refunds: no money-back guarantee; app refunds need proof the product was faulty, within 14 days
Who makes DoFasting
DoFasting belongs to Kilo Health, a Lithuanian app company based in Vilnius. The DoFasting general conditions split the business across three companies, and it helps to know which one does what:
| Company | Role in the terms |
|---|---|
| Fasting Solutions UAB | Runs the website and the app, and is the App Store seller |
| Kilo grupe UAB (company code 303157579) | Takes payments, handles refunds and chargebacks |
| MAX Nutrition UAB | Sells the physical products, like supplements |
On iPhone the app is listed as DoFasting Intermittent Fasting. It was first released on 26 May 2019 and holds a 3.9 rating from about 4,800 US ratings. The latest version, 6.5.2, came out on 8 August 2025, and the only entry since then is an Apple note about watchOS 27 compatibility with "no new features."
On Android, the Google Play listing shows 500,000+ downloads and a 2.7 rating from about 5,970 reviews, last updated on 6 August 2025. The DoFasting website says the app has had "over 541 221 plans ordered."
So the app has not had a feature update in over a year, which is worth knowing before you choose a 6-month or 12-month term.
Is there a free version of DoFasting?
There is no free version. You can install the app and open it, and everything past the quiz asks for a plan. The App Store listing says the app "offers three auto-renewing subscription options," with no free plan listed next to them.
This is the main difference between DoFasting and the free fasting timers. If all you want is a clock that tells you when your eating window opens, several apps do that for nothing. Our breakdown of whether Zero is free covers one of them, and our list of the best apps for a fasting timer plus food log covers more.
The subscription adds a fasting plan picked from your quiz answers, recipes, calorie and water tracking, step counts and workout videos. Fortune's 2026 roundup tested it for a week and noted it is "a paid app with no free trial available", and that there is no community feature or personal coaching.
Does DoFasting have a free trial?
Not a standing one. Section 5.9 of the terms allows trials "for the limited time at a special price or without payment," and says the company "will automatically begin charging" on the first day after the trial ends. If you do not want the charge, you "must cancel the subscription before the end of the Trial."
In practice, the trial people report is a paid one. An App Store reviewer described being offered $1 for a 7-day trial after the quiz, with a discount on a longer plan for skipping the trial. A paid trial is still a subscription. When the 7 days end, it turns into the full plan unless you cancel first, and the 48-hour rule applies to website purchases.

What does DoFasting cost in 2026?
Here are the three price lists I found, all checked on 1 October 2026.
Three price lists for one app means some page flipping before you pay
Price list 1: the DoFasting website
The DoFasting app page sells three plans, each shown with a crossed-out "regular" price and a "Special offer - Save up to 75%" label:
| Plan | Shown price | Crossed-out price | What you pay up front |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 month | $37.00 per month | $74.00 per month | $37 |
| 3 months | $16.00 per month | $32.00 per month | $48 |
| 6 months | $11.50 per month | $46.00 per month | $69 |
The page adds: "Payments are charged in USD. Payment provider fees may apply. Plan automatically renews until cancelled."
Note the plan lengths. The website sells 1, 3 and 6 months. The help center says 3, 6 and 12 months. Both are DoFasting's own pages, and they do not agree.
Price list 2: the App Store description
The US App Store description lists three different prices:
- $32.99 per quarter, billed every 3 months
- $45.99 per half-year, billed every 6 months
- $66.99 per year, which the listing says is "less than $5.59 a month"
It also says "these prices are for United States customers" and that pricing may vary by region.
Price list 3: the App Store purchase list
The same App Store page has an In-App Purchases section, and it shows ten plan prices, not three:
| Plan length | Prices listed |
|---|---|
| 1 month | $32.99, $36.99 |
| 3 months | $32.99, $33.99, $45.99, $47.99 |
| 6 months | $45.99, $65.99, $68.99 |
| 12 months | $66.99 |
Apps list several price points when they test prices or show different offers to different people. You see one at checkout, and you cannot choose which.
What this means for your bill
The cheapest verified yearly cost is the $66.99 annual plan in the App Store description. A 6-month plan bought on the website costs $69 per half year, or about $138 a year if it renews at the same price. The chart below runs every plan out to a full year, assuming each renewal is charged at the same price.
Figure 1: The same year of DoFasting costs $66.99 on the App Store annual plan and $444 on the website's monthly plan
As Figure 1 shows, where you buy and which length you pick change the yearly cost by more than six times. Fortune puts the typical range at roughly $11 to $20 a month depending on the term, which matches both lists.
Real people report numbers in the same range. A Google Play reviewer wrote that it was "not worth the $70 I paid" for 6 months.
The renewal rules in the DoFasting terms
The general conditions are where the money rules live. Four sections matter most.
Renewal is automatic and for the same length. Section 5.8.1 says the subscription renews "for a renewal period equal in time to the most recent service period." A 6-month plan becomes another 6 months, charged in one payment.
The renewal price can change. Section 5.8.3 says renewals "might be charged at Company's then current rates," which "may be higher or lower than the rates for the original service period." The terms do not publish a renewal price list, so the discounted first price is the only number you are sure of.
Website plans need to be canceled two full days before they renew
You must cancel 48 hours early. Section 5.8.4 says you have to cancel "at least 48 hours before the end of current period." Apple and Google let you turn off renewal up to 24 hours before, so a website purchase has the stricter deadline.
Deleting the app does nothing. Section 5.8.6 says "deleting the app does not cancel the subscriptions." The help center repeats it.
Prices are in US dollars (section 5.4), so a card in another currency may show a slightly different amount.
IMPORTANT
Checkpoint: prices done, now the exit rules.
Halfway. Refunds and canceling are where the money is won or lost.

DoFasting refunds: what you can and cannot get
DoFasting does not offer a money-back guarantee, and the refund rules for the app are narrow.
For the app, refunds are for faulty content only. Section 6.2 of the terms says all prices "are not refundable unless otherwise expressly noted." Section 6.2.1 allows a refund only if you prove the product is "not as described or faulty," and you must contact support at [email protected] within 14 days of purchase. The help center refund article asks for "visual proof that the product was faulty," proof of payment, and the email address you signed up with.
You give up the usual EU cooling-off right. Section 4.3 says that for digital content, the buyer "agrees to lose his/her right of withdrawal." Section 6.1 explains why: the legal 14-day right to change your mind does not cover digital content once it has been delivered.
A refund ends your access. Section 6.2.2 says that once a refund is issued you no longer have access to the service.
Deleting your account does not create a refund right. Section 6.6 says account deletion "does not imply any right to refunds" and cannot be undone, and asks you to contact the company before you delete. So ask for the refund first.
A chargeback closes the door. The help center says that after a card dispute DoFasting "will not be able to refund the transaction," and "cases closed in the merchant's favor cannot be reversed."
Physical goods are different. Sections 6.5.1 to 6.5.3 give supplements a 14-day return window, if you notify [email protected] first, pay the return shipping and send the item back unopened.
App Store and Google Play purchases are outside all of this. Section 6.3 sends you to Apple or Google, and the help center links their refund forms. If you are weighing a refund request across several fasting apps, our guide to fasting app refund rules covers how Apple, Google and web purchases differ.
How to cancel DoFasting step by step
The cancel path depends on where you paid. Follow these steps in order.
- Find out where you bought it. Look for the receipt email. A receipt from Apple or Google means the store controls the subscription. A receipt from DoFasting or Kilo means the website does.
- Website purchases: log in to your DoFasting client account. The help center cancel article points to dofasting.com/clients/login, where you can see your subscription status and cancel it. The "Manage Subscription" link in the website footer now goes to new.dofasting.com/client/login, so try that address if the first one fails. Section 5.8.5 of the terms adds that website subscriptions cannot be managed through Apple or Google.
- iPhone purchases: cancel in Settings. Open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose DoFasting and tap Cancel Subscription. Apple's subscription help page covers other devices.
- Android purchases: cancel in Google Play. Open the Play Store, tap your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Choose DoFasting and cancel. Google's steps are on its Play subscriptions help page.
- Check the other platform if you cannot find it. The help center says that if DoFasting is not in your Apple subscriptions, you probably bought on the website, and the reverse.
- Read the status after you cancel. It should say canceled. One status looks close enough to fool you, and I cover it in its own section below.
- Cancel at least 48 hours early and keep proof. Take a screenshot of the confirmation screen or keep the confirmation email.
If none of this works, the help center points to its Submit a request form or [email protected].
What the research says about fasting apps
The DoFasting study was written by Kilo Health staff. A 2022 paper in BMC Nutrition reviewed the records of 22,022 DoFasting users with overweight or obesity (Valinskas et al., 2022). Long-term active users lost a median of 2.2 kg, against 1.4 kg for inactive users. Two limits matter: all four authors list Kilo.Health as their affiliation, and the study looked back at app records instead of randomizing people, so it cannot show the app caused the loss.
Fasting alone often matches ordinary eating. In the TREAT trial, 116 adults were randomized to eat only between noon and 8 pm or to eat three meals across the day, for 12 weeks. The fasting group lost 0.94 kg, and the difference between the groups was not significant (Lowe et al., 2020). The authors concluded time-restricted eating on its own "is not more effective in weight loss than eating throughout the day."
The calorie deficit does most of the work. A 12-month trial randomized 139 adults with obesity to the same calorie target, with or without an 8-hour eating window. The fasting group lost 8.0 kg and the calorie-only group lost 6.3 kg, and the difference was not significant (Liu et al., 2022). If you want to know what your own daily target looks like, our TDEE calculator gives a starting number in a minute.
Across 99 trials, fasting methods look similar. A 2025 network meta-analysis in the BMJ pooled 99 randomized trials with 6,582 adults. Every fasting method and ordinary calorie restriction reduced weight compared with no diet. Compared with continuous calorie restriction, only alternate day fasting showed an extra benefit, a mean difference of 1.29 kg (Semnani-Azad et al., 2025).
Tracking is the habit that predicts results. In a study of 90 adults using app-based food logging, the number of weeks people logged consistently was linked to their percent weight loss over 8 weeks (Payne et al., 2022). A split of protein, carbs and fat from our macro calculator gives that log something to aim at.
Put together, the research says fasting is one workable way to eat less, and no trial shows it beating a plain calorie deficit. DoFasting's own data points the same way: the people who kept opening the app lost more.

✨ The status that looks like a cancel (about to reveal)
The "paused" status that can keep charges coming
Paused is not canceled. One Google Play reviewer reported that the website showed their subscription as paused, with no cancel button, while charges were still being attempted on their card.
A pause keeps the subscription alive and can resume billing later. If your account page shows paused, or anything other than canceled:
- Email [email protected] and ask, in writing, for the subscription to be canceled, not paused.
- Ask for a reply that confirms the cancel date.
- Keep that email with your checkout screenshot until the next renewal date has passed with no charge.
Do this before you delete the app or the account. Deleting either one stops nothing.

Who DoFasting fits, and who should skip it
DoFasting fits you if you want one paid app that combines a fasting timer, a recipe library and short workouts, and you like being told which fasting schedule to follow. Fortune's tester rated it 4 out of 5 after a week and described it as built to make intermittent fasting simple for beginners.
Skip it, or look at a cheaper option first, if any of these describe you:
- You only need a timer. Free fasting timers cover the core feature. Paying $66.99 or more a year for a clock is hard to justify.
- You log a lot of food. Reviewers on both stores say food logging is slow. One App Store reviewer said they cannot pull a meal from a prior entry. A Play reviewer said the calorie tracker is hard to use without the food packaging in front of you.
- You want a coach. There is no human coaching or community. If that matters, our list of the best fasting apps with coaching covers apps that include it.
- You want a clear refund path. There is no money-back guarantee, and refunds for the app need proof that it was faulty.
- You want an app that is still getting new features. The last feature update on both stores was in August 2025.
If you are comparing paid fasting apps on price, our Fastic pricing guide covers another app that combines a fasting timer with courses and recipes, and our look at whether Lasta is free covers one more.
Seven things to check before you pay
- Take a screenshot of the checkout page. Record the plan length, the price and the renewal line.
- Compare the website and the App Store. The website 6-month plan is $69. The App Store description lists $45.99 for 6 months and $66.99 for a year. Check both before you buy.
- Pick where you buy on purpose. A website purchase follows the DoFasting refund rules and the 48-hour cancel deadline. A store purchase follows Apple's or Google's rules.
- Treat a $1 trial as a real subscription. It becomes a full plan when it ends unless you cancel.
- Say no to add-ons you do not need. Supplements are sold by a separate company with separate return rules.
- Set a reminder three days before renewal. A 6-month plan is easy to forget.
- Ask for a refund before deleting your account. Deleting it ends any refund right.
Where NutriScan fits
I work for NutriScan, so weigh this section with that in mind. NutriScan (150k+ downloads, 4.6 stars) is a food tracker first, and it does not come with DoFasting's workout videos or recipe library. What it does include is a fasting timer on the free plan, so the part of DoFasting most people start with costs nothing.
Pick 14:10, 16:8, 18:6, 20:4 or a custom window, and the timer counts down on your lock screen. A report card tracks your streak, and the history list keeps every past fast.

Home > Top Tab "Fasting"

Home > Top Tab "Fasting" > Start Fasting
When the eating window opens, you log meals by photo. You take a picture, tag the food type and cooking method, and the app estimates calories, protein, carbs and fat, which you can correct. The free plan includes 5 meal scans a week.

Home > Camera Icon > Click Picture
Premium removes the scan limit and unlocks the diet plan for about $59 a year. The details are on our NutriScan pricing page.

IMPORTANT
Recap: everything you checked this round.
You finished the run. Save this before you pay.
⏱️ Progress 4/4 • ~12 minutes in • Nicely done
✅ Step 1: No free plan; the usual "trial" is a paid $1 intro that becomes a full plan
✅ Step 2: Website plans of $37, $48 and $69; App Store plans from $32.99 to $66.99
✅ Step 3: Cancel 48 hours early where you paid; app refunds need proof of a fault within 14 days
✅ The paused status: ask in writing for a full cancel (revealed)
DoFasting is not free, it has no standing free trial, and the price you see depends on where you look. The website sells 1, 3 and 6 month plans at $37, $48 and $69 up front. The US App Store description lists $32.99 for 3 months, $45.99 for 6 months and $66.99 for a year, and the purchase list shows ten price points between $32.99 and $68.99. Renewals can be charged at "then current rates," you need to cancel 48 hours before a website plan ends, and refunds for the app need proof that it was faulty.
If you want a structured fasting plan with recipes and can live with a slow food log, the annual App Store price is the best value on the list. If you mainly want to understand what you eat inside your eating window, a food log gives you more for the money. You can run a free fasting timer and log meals by photo with NutriScan for a week, then decide whether a paid fasting program adds anything.
