Pretty good app honestly. Logging meals is fast and the macro breakdown is easy to read. Photo scan gets confused on some Indian dishes though, fix that and it's 5 stars for sure.
Micronutrient Tracker App That Shows Vitamins on Every Meal โ
Most calorie apps stop at four numbers. NutriScan puts the vitamins and minerals in a meal on the same screen as the calories, on every scan, on a free account. The Progress Week tab then tracks 11 of them against target from the meals you logged.

Vitamins and minerals are free on every meal. Go Premium for unlimited scans and the 28 day plan.

Micronutrients are on the free side of the line ๐ โ
Two plans, Free and Premium, nothing in between. Micronutrients and the NutriScore on every meal stay free forever, whether you subscribe or not.

The 11 the Progress Week tab measures ๐งช โ
Vitamin D and Calcium
These two travel together, which is why they sit side by side in the Week tab. Harvard Health Publishing puts the mechanism plainly: without enough vitamin D the body absorbs only 10% to 15% of the calcium in food, against 30% to 40% when vitamin D reserves are normal. NutriScan reports what your logged meals contained and how that compares with your target. Reading anything clinical into it is your doctor's job, not the app's.
Iron and Vitamin B12
Two of the numbers people cut a food group and then wonder about. Both are on the weekly list, read from your own meals.
Magnesium and Zinc
Tracked against target every week, so a run of takeaway lunches shows up as a number rather than a hunch.
Vitamins C, A, E and K
Four more on the same weekly screen. Each one has a target and a reading taken from the meals you logged that week.
Omega-3
The eleventh entry on the list, and the one that usually moves when fish, walnuts or flax turn up in a week. On an individual meal you see the top 4 micronutrients for that plate ordered from highest to lowest, so you also learn which foods are doing the work.
How micronutrient tracking works ๐ ๏ธ โ
Log the meal
Photograph the plate, describe it out loud, or type it. On the crop screen you set the food type from 8 tags, the cooking method from 11 tags and the oil level across four steps, because a fried portion and a steamed one carry different numbers. A free account gets 5 AI photo scans a week and the count resets every week.

Read the micronutrients on the meal
The nutrition details page opens with calories, protein, carbs and fat, then the top 4 micronutrients in that meal ordered from highest to lowest, then the NutriScore with an explanation. Tap Nutrition Breakdown to see every nutritional value the app has for the meal, and use Ask More to put a question about it by voice or text.
Check the week against target
Open the Progress tab and switch to Week. Next to your average NutriScore and your protein hit rate sits the vitamins and minerals target list: Vitamin D, Calcium, Vitamin B12, Vitamin E, Zinc, Magnesium, Vitamin C, Omega-3, Iron, Vitamin A and Vitamin K. That is 11 nutrients read from the meals you actually logged, not from a questionnaire.

Want your calorie and macro targets set before you start? Run the numbers in the macro calculator, then check the NutriScore app page for how each meal gets graded, or the diet planner if you want 28 days of meals written around your goal.
Ask the meal, not a search engine ๐ฌ โ
Nutrition Breakdown lists every value NutriScan holds for a meal. Ask More sits under it. Tap an Explore Topic tag or write your own question, by keyboard or by voice, and the answer is about the plate you just logged. Change your mind mid question and picking a different tag replaces what is in the box.
NutriBites does the same thing across your whole timeline. Ask which meals last week carried the most iron and the reply comes back with meal cards you can tap through to the original entry.
None of that is a diagnosis. NutriScan reports the food you logged and how it compares with a target, and it does not replace medical advice. Anything that looks like a pattern worth acting on belongs in front of a doctor or a registered dietitian.
What people are saying
Real reviews from people tracking their meals with NutriScan.
Finally sticking to a diet plan because of this app ๐๐ป
Surprisingly fun to use? Lost 1 kg in 4 days just by logging stuff and keeping my NutriScore green. Still on the free side, will probably grab Premium soon.
You take a photo and seconds later you have your macros and micronutrients. That's basically why I stuck with it.
Been using it 2 days now and liking it so far. First week is free so not much to lose.
Did some homework before installing and yeah, the photo scan accuracy is legit. NutriScore is solid too. Keep building, this is great.
Just started but it looks promising. Big plus that you can try it for free.
Finally a calorie counter without ads or upsells every two screens. Photograph the meal, done. Free, simple, exactly what I needed.
Found it right when I needed help fixing my eating. Really glad I did.
Solid pick if you want to track calories and stay on a diet plan without overthinking it.
Lost weight using this. The diet plan kept me honest on bad days. People sleep on how much diet actually matters.

Frequently Asked Questions โ โ
Do I have to pay to see micronutrients? โ
No. Micronutrients on every meal are part of the free account, along with the NutriScore on every meal, unlimited meal history, the fasting timer, water tracking and reminders. A free account gets 5 AI photo scans a week and 4 voice calls a week with Monika. Premium adds unlimited scans, unlimited calls, the 28 day diet plan with its grocery list and recipes, and the full weekly and monthly Progress reports.
Which vitamins and minerals does NutriScan track? โ
The Progress Week tab tracks 11 against target: Vitamin D, Calcium, Vitamin B12, Vitamin E, Zinc, Magnesium, Vitamin C, Omega-3, Iron, Vitamin A and Vitamin K. On an individual meal you get the top 4 micronutrients for that meal, ordered from highest to lowest, and the Nutrition Breakdown screen lists every value the app holds for it.
Can I ask what a nutrient is doing in my meal? โ
Yes. Ask More sits under the Nutrition Breakdown on any meal. Type a question or say it out loud, or tap one of the Explore Topic tags to fill the box for you. The answer is about the meal in front of you rather than a generic food entry, and a thumbs up or thumbs down under it tells us when the reading was off.
Does NutriScan tell me if I am deficient in something? โ
No, and it should not. NutriScan reports what you logged and compares it with a target. Deficiency is a medical finding that comes from a blood test and a clinician reading it, so treat the Week tab as a record of your eating, not a diagnosis. NutriScan does not replace medical advice. If a number stays low for weeks, take the screen to your doctor or dietitian and let them decide what it means.
What happens to my micronutrient history if I cancel Premium? โ
It stays. Micronutrients and the NutriScore on every meal are free forever, subscribed or not, and your meal history has no limit on either plan. After a cancellation you keep logging with 5 AI scans a week and 4 calls a week with Monika. What goes away is the Premium side: unlimited scans and calls, the 28 day diet plan, the grocery list and recipes, and the full weekly and monthly Progress reports.
